Written in stone. Poured in glass.
Inspired by Ogham, Ireland’s ancient written language, we celebrate the connection between land, story and time. From the vineyards of Washington, we carry that spirit from land to glass.
Ogham Cellars is a boutique winery with Irish roots and a name most people have never seen before. Rachel and James wanted a brand that honored that heritage without feeling like a souvenir shop. We were honored to help them bring it to life.
Ogham (pronounced “OH-um”) is an early medieval Irish alphabet dating back to around the 4th century. It’s written as a series of strokes and notches along a single line, and it was carved into standing stones across Ireland. Many of those stones are still standing. Talk about staying power.
The logomark borrows the triskelion, a three-part spiral carved into Irish stone for more than 5,000 years. We drew it to hold a monogram, with an “O” and a “C” for Ogham Cellars built into the curves. Celtic-inspired typography ties the logo and labels together, so the heritage feels authentic, not themed.

A few extra ideas came out of the sketchbook along the way. Rachel and James liked them so much they became a permanent part of the brand.
The final result feels old and new at the same time. Rooted in history, made for today’s shelf, and ready to last a lot longer than one vintage.
“We absolutely loved working with The Trust Dept on the labels for Ogham Cellars. From the beginning, Paul really took the time to understand what we were trying to create and had even researched the ogham concept before we first connected, which really impressed us. He also came up with additional ideas and design elements along the way, some of which we loved so much that we now use them as part of our Ogham logo and branding. Paul is incredibly talented, but he’s also just a wonderful person to work with.”
